James F. Felch II, hotel purchasing employee

James F. Felch II, a Centreville, Va., resident who did purchasing work for major hotel chains, died Dec. 27 at Inova Fairfax Hospital. He was 61.

The cause was complications from a fall, said his brother Steve Felch.

Mr. Felch spent much of his career in the hospitality industry, working mostly in the purchasing department for chains including Marriott and Hilton. Until a few years ago, he was purchasing director at Continental Design & Supplies.

The son of an Army officer, James Francis Felch II was born in Salzburg, Austria, and graduated in 1971 from the old Fort Hunt High School in Fairfax County. In 1975, he received a bachelor’s degree in hotel and restaurant management from what is now Shepherd University in West Virginia.

His marriage to Veronica Villalobos ended in divorce.

Survivors include his mother, Dolores Felch of Fort Belvoir, Va.; two brothers, Steve Felch of Manassas, Va., and David Felch of Keller, Tex.; and a sister, Susan Von Suskil of Kitty Hawk, N.C.
