Jessica A. Grandjean, hotel administrator

Jessica A. Grandjean, 31, who had been an assistant director of finance at Hotel Monaco in Alexandria, died Feb. 5 at Inova Alexandria Hospital.

She had breast cancer, said her sister Lisa Grandjean Dutton.

Ms. Grandjean had worked for Hotel Monaco and other Kimpton hotels in finance positions for the past five years.

Jessica Anne Grandjean was born in Alexandria, where she graduated from Hayfield Secondary School in 1999. She received a bachelor’s degree in sociology from George Mason University in 2004.

Ms. Grandjean was an Alexandria resident and coached field hockey at Hayfield Secondary from 2001 to 2003. From 2011 to 2012, she and “Team Jess” raised more than $28,000 through the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure, her sister said. Ms. Grandjean and her daughter participated in the opening ceremonies of the race in Washington last year.

Survivors include a daughter from a previous relationship, Mina Grandjean of Alexandria; her father, Walter Grandjean of Alexandria; two sisters; and two brothers.
