Kathleen Lilik, certified public accountant

Kathleen Lilik, 59, who had been a certified public accountant since 2002 with URS Federal Services in Germantown, died March 11 at Montgomery Hospice’s Casey House in Rockville. She was a Germantown resident.

She died of complications from lung cancer, said her husband, Dennis Lilik.

Mrs. Lilik was a parent-teacher association treasurer at Ronald McNair Elementary School in Germantown, where she logged more than 4,000 hours of volunteer service. She was a teacher of religious education at Mother Seton Catholic Church in Germantown and a Girl Scout leader.

Kathleen Marie Ellis was born in Indianapolis, where she graduated in 1974 from what is now Marian University. She was a CPA in Oxnard, Calif., and King of Prussia, Pa., before moving to the Washington area in 1998.

Survivors include her husband of 37 years, Dennis Lilik, and a daughter, Elizabeth Lilik, both of Germantown; four sisters; a brother, Steven Ellis of Alexandria; and her mother, Geraldine Ellis of Waverly, Pa.
