Marilyn E. Mayerfeld, 83, who formerly led the Women of Carderock and often hosted the neighborhood association’s monthly luncheons, died Feb. 24 at her home in Bethesda.
She had cancer, said a son, Jamie Mayerfeld.
Marilyn Elaine Ehrlich was born in Brooklyn and was a 1952 graduate of Brooklyn College. She then accompanied her husband on his CIA assignments before settling in the Washington area in 1971.
Her interests included sketching landscapes and urban street scenes.
Her husband of 47 years, former CIA deputy counsel Ernest Mayerfeld, died in 2001. Survivors include two children, Diane Mayerfeld of Madison, Wis., and Jamie Mayerfeld of Seattle; and two grandchildren.
