Mary Y. Rock, a retired budget analyst at the Department of Agriculture, died June 4 at the Buckingham’s Choice retirement community in Adamstown, where she had lived since 2006. She was 94.

The cause of death was dementia, said her friend and executor, Beverly Gardner.

Mary Elizabeth Young was born in Washington. After moving to Winter Haven, Fla., she returned to the Washington area in 1938.

She worked for 32 years for the federal government, the last 25 with the Extension Service of the Department of Agriculture. She retired in 1973.

In 1947, she married Joseph O. Rock. He died in 1999.

She had no immediate survivors.
