Patrick C. Burch, 86, a director of urban renewal for the Prince George’s County town of Colmar Manor in the 1970s, died Jan. 24 at Holy Cross Hospital in Silver Spring. He was a Silver Spring resident.

The cause was complications from gallstones. A son, Patrick Burch Jr., confirmed the death.

Before working for Colmar Manor, Mr. Burch sold insurance, owned and operated a custom home-building company, and was a building inspector in Rockville.

Patrick Conroy Burch was born in Hughesville and raised in Washington. After Navy service in World War II, he attended the University of Cincinnati in Ohio.

Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Ruth Biggs Burch of Silver Spring; two children, Patrick Burch Jr. of Kennett Square, Pa., and Cheryl A. White of Silver Spring; and two grandsons.
