Ron Redfoot, 75, a former elementary school teacher who later worked for the U.S. Education Department and as a real estate agent, died May 2 at Capital Caring’s Halquist Memorial Inpatient Center in Arlington County.
He had cancer, said his executor, Joe Horobetz.
Mr. Redfoot was a Fairfax City resident. He taught in the Fairfax County public schools from 1963 until the mid-1980s, when he joined the Education Department. He sold residential real estate in Northern Virginia from the mid-1990s until his retirement in the early 2000s.
Ronald David Redfoot was born in Fredonia, Pa. He received an associate’s degree from Mount San Antonio College in Walnut, Calif., in 1959; a bachelor’s degree from the University of the Pacific in Stockton, Calif., in 1961; and a master’s degree from the University of Virginia in 1967.
In 1981 and 1982, he taught in Scotland through the Fulbright fellowship program.
Survivors include five brothers and four sisters.
