Ruth Berman, 88, who worked for more than 25 years as private executive secretary to the owners of the Concord Resort Hotel in Kiamesha Lake, N.Y., died Dec. 17 at the Mount Vernon Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
She had complications from a stroke suffered about two decades ago, her daughter Robyn Webb said.
Ruth Elias was born in Newark. She lived in Monticello, N.Y., before moving to Northern Virginia in 1991.
In her early years in the Washington area, she worked in the triage department at Inova Alexandria Hospital and assisted Webb with her Alexandria-based nutrition and culinary business.
Mrs. Berman lived for four years at Chesterbrook Residences, an assisted-living facility in Falls Church. She did volunteer work over the years with B’nai B’rith and other Jewish service organizations.
Her husband of 10 years, Lee Berman, died in 1967. Survivors include two daughters, Robyn Webb of Alexandria and Andrea Adler of Jericho, N.Y.; a sister; four grandchildren; and a great-grandson.
