Ruth Revell, minister’s wife

Ruth Revell, a minister’s wife who helped build the Highway Assembly of God Church in Fredericksburg, died Nov. 23 at a hospital in Hagerstown, Md. She was 86.

The cause was a bleeding ulcer, said Cheryl McCulla.

Ruth Agnes Stottlemyer was born in Williamsport, in western Maryland. In 1950, she married Robert Revell, an Assembly of God minister. She her husband ministered to deaf people in Norfolk and Los Angeles before they started Highway Assembly of God Church in 1955.

By the time her husband retired in 1990, the church had several hundred congregations. They then relocated to Falling Waters, W.Va.

Besides her husband, of Falling Waters, survivors include two children, Robert Revell Jr. of Spotsylvania, Va., and Cheryl McCulla of Alexandria; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
