A 16-year-old girl found dead in Vienna on Friday has been identified as Emylee Lonczak, a student at McLean High School, according to a letter from the principal.

Fairfax County police are awaiting the medical examiner to determine the cause and manner of the McLean girl’s death, but spokesman Bud Walker said they “are confident. . .there is no threat to the neighborhood or public at large.”

Officers found Lonczak’s body in the 8200 block of Madrillon Estates Drive around 11 a.m. on Friday. She had been reported as a runaway.

“Emylee Lonczak was a rising 11th grader at our school,” McLean High School Principal Ellen T. Reilly wrote in her letter to school families. “She was a cherished student who will be greatly missed by all who knew her.”

An obituary from a local funeral home said Lonczak is survived by her parents and six siblings.
