Fairfax County police are asking for the public’s help in locating a 5-year-old Great Falls boy who is missing and is believed to be in the company of his mother.

Detectives have reason to be concerned about the welfare of Cameron Serafin, who was supposed to be returned to his father on Sunday, police said.

A preliminary investigation indicates Rebecca Serafin, 32, has altered her appearance and that of her son to avoid being located, police said. Serafin’s car and other items have been discovered.

Police said a warrant has been issued for Serafin’s arrest on a misdemeanor charge of custodial interference. Serafin is approximately 5’4” tall and weighs between 120 and 130 pounds. She also goes by the name Rebecca Love.

Cameron Serafin is 3’5” tall and weighs about 40 pounds. The photographs of Rebecca and Cameron are believed to reflect their altered appearances. Police said an Amber Alert will not be issued in the case.
