Police charge 22-year-old with two counts of first-degree murder in July double homicide

A 22-year-old District man has been charged with fatally shooting two people in July 2013, D.C. police said Tuesday.

Carlton Maurice Johnson, of Northeast, was arrested and charged with two counts of first-degree murder while armed in connection to the deaths of Anthony Chase, 19, and Eric Leeper, 27.

Police said the shootings occurred the night of July 17 on Ridge Road in Southeast. A third person who was shot survived.
