Two people were found dead in a Fairfax County apartment Monday morning, and investigators say the deaths might be the result of a murder-suicide, Fairfax County police said.

Officers were called to Skyline Towers, a high-rise in the 5500 block of Seminary Road, shortly before 10 a.m. Monday for a report of the sound of shots being fired, police said.

When officers arrived, they found a man and woman dead in an apartment, police said.

An initial investigation led detectives to believe the deaths were the result of a murder-suicide that was possibly domestic in nature, police said. Crime-scene technicians and detectives remain on the scene.

The victims’ identities were not immediately released.
