Presidents’ Day closings: Banks, post offices, transportation, liquor stores and more

Here is a list of what’s closed and what’s open Monday on Presidents’ Day:


— Most banks.

— Federal government offices.

— Post offices: No mail delivery except for Express Mail.

— Courts: Except for adult arraignments and new juvenile referrals in the District.


— District: Sunday traffic regulations. Meters not enforced.

— Maryland: No parking fees in Montgomery and Prince George’s except for the New Carrollton Garage and National Harbor. Parking fees in Anne Arundel and Howard.

— Virginia: HOV restrictions lifted. Meters not enforced in Arlington and City of Alexandria.


— District: No trash pickups. Pickups slide one day for the remainder of the week.

— Maryland: Regular collections in Anne Arundel, Howard and Prince George’s counties. No trash or recycling collections in Montgomery County. Collections will slide one day for the remainder of the week. Montgomery Transfer station open. Landfills open except in Anne Arundel.

— Virginia: Regular trash pickups in Arlington and Fairfax. No trash pickups in City of Fairfax and City of Alexandria. Monday collections will be made on Tuesday. Landfills open.


— District: Owner’s discretion.

— Maryland: Closed in Montgomery County.

— Virginia: Closed.


— District: Closed.

— Maryland: Closed.

— Virginia: Closed.


— District: Closed.

— Maryland: Closed.

— Virginia: Closed.


District: Closed.

Maryland: Closed.

Virginia: Closed.


— Metrorail will operate from 5 a.m. to midnight on a Saturday schedule. Minnesota Ave. and Deanwood stations on the Orange Line, and Benning Road, Capitol Heights, Addison Road, Morgan Boulevard and Largo Town Center stations on the Blue line will be closed. Red Line trains will single track between Rhode Island Ave. and Takoma. Shuttle buses will replace trains on the Green Line between Greenbelt and College Park.

— Metrobus will run on a Saturday supplemental schedule.

— Metro Access subscription calls are cancelled.

— Ride On will operate on a modified holiday schedule.

— Fairfax Connector will operate on a holiday weekday schedule.

— ART routes 41, 42, 51, 77 and 87 will operate only on a Saturday schedule.

— Dash will operate on a Saturday schedule. CUE will operate on a modified weekday schedule. The Bus will operate on a regular schedule.

— PRTC OmniRide and Loudoun Bus will offer limited service.

— MARC, and VRE will not operate.

— MTA Commuter Bus Route 201 only, will operate on a weekday schedule.
