Snakes in tank: 10000 block, Fox Run Rd., Clinton, Nov. 12. A convenience store manager called animal management to report finding three tanks containing snakes next to a dumpster in the parking lot. An animal control officer picked up two red snakes and one white snake. When not claimed, they were taken to a rescue group.
Lab left tied up: 700 block, Bleak Hill Pl., Upper Marlboro, Nov. 13. A man reported finding a fat stray dog tied up in front of his house. An officer removed a 7-year-old black male Labrador retriever. It was reunited with its owner Nov. 17.
Injured owl: 600 block, Crain Hwy., Upper Marlboro, Nov. 15. An animal control officer picked up an injured brown owl and took it to a wildlife rehabilitator.
Stray dog on porch: 2100 block, Marshall Pl., Hyattsville, Nov. 16. A woman reported a stray dog sitting on her front porch. She said the dog was wearing a collar but ran away every time she tried to approach. An officer picked up a 2-year-old black male cocker spaniel and Lhasa apso mix. The dog was reunited with its owner Nov. 16.
Vaccination Clinic Sunday: The Prince George’s County SPCA/Humane Society is sponsoring a low-cost shot clinic for dogs and cats from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday at 8210 D’Arcy Rd., Forestville. Rabies shots are $8; distemper shots are $12. Microchip IDs are $25. Only cash and credit cards are accepted as payment. All animals must be on a leash or in a carrier. Owners should bring an up-to-date rabies certificate. For information, call 301-262-5625.
