Cat at eviction site: 3900 block, Suitland Rd., Suitland, Sept. 25. An employee of an apartment building requested pick up of a cat left behind after the Sheriff’s Department conducted an eviction. An animal control officer removed a 2-year-old black male domestic short hair cat. The cat was claimed by its owner the same day.
Yorkie pup found during eviction: 13500 block, Avebury Dr., Laurel, Sept. 26. An employee at an apartment building reported that the sheriff’s department conducted an eviction and that a dog was left in the apartment. An animal control officer removed a 7-month-old black female Yorkshire terrier. The puppy was claimed by its owner the following day.
Police drop off stray: 15900 block, Excalibur Rd., Bowie, Sept. 27. Police officers dropped off a stray dog to the Bowie police station. An animal control officer picked up a 10-year-old brown male Cairn terrier wearing a white flea collar. The dog’s owner was located and they were reunited the following day.
Kitten wrapped in T-shirt: 4100 block, Suit Rd., District Heights, Sept. 27. A man reported holding a small stray kitten inside a T-shirt. An officer picked up a 2-week-old black male domestic shorthair kitten. The kitten was taken to a rescue group the same day.
Silver Spring pet adoptions: The Prince George’s County SPCA/Humane Society is sponsoring cat and dog adoptions, noon-2 p.m. Saturday at PetSmart: 12020 Cherry Hill Rd., Silver Spring. The pets’ foster owners will answer questions and accept adoption applications for the animals. Adoption fees are $75 for cats, $180 for dogs.
