Dog tied to clothes line: 3500 block, 55th Ave., Hyattsville, Jan. 20. Animal management received a call from a resident who reported seeing a dog tied to a clothes line pole in a yard of a vacant property and said that the dog was barking a lot. An animal control officer picked up the 1-year-old black male Labrador retriever and pointer mix. The dog’s owner was located, and the pet was returned home Jan. 28.

Injured bird: 9000 block, Commo Rd., Cheltenham, Jan. 26. Someone reported an injured bird that was unable to fly. An animal control officer picked up an injured brown hawk and took it to a wildlife rehabilitator.

Stray dogs in front yard: 8600 block, Jolly Lane, Fort Washington, Jan. 26. A woman reported seeing two stray dogs running loose in her front yard. An animal control officer removed two 2-year-old Boerboel dogs, one black male and one fawn female. The dogs were returned home the next day.

Running in the parking lot: 9500 block, Crain Hwy., Upper Marlboro, Jan. 26. Someone reported holding two dogs running loose in the parking lot of a business. An officer picked up two German shepherds, a 2-year-old black female and a 3-year-old black male. The dogs were reunited with their owner the next day.

Cat and dog adoption event: The Prince George’s County SPCA/Humane Society is sponsoring cat and dog adoptions from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday at PetSmart, 12020 Cherry Hill Rd., Silver Spring.
