Injured deer in driveway: 5700 block, Crestwood Pl., Riverdale, May 28. A woman reported seeing an injured deer under her vehicle in her driveway. An animal control officer removed an underweight brown female deer. The deer was taken to a rescue group.
Snake on mouse trap: 100 block, Diamler Dr., Capitol Heights, May 28. A woman reported catching a snake on a mouse trip in her home. An officer removed the healthy white snake and returned it to the wild.
Sick kitten found under car: 4800 block, St. Barnabus Rd., Temple Hills, May 30. A woman reported holding a sick stray cat that she retrieved from under her car the day before. She said that the kitten cried constantly and had not eaten. An animal control officer picked up the 2-month-old black cat and took it to a rescue group.
Stuck bird: 2400 block, Susan Hodges Pl., Upper Marlboro, June 1. A man reported a bird stuck on an insect trap that had been in a garage. He said that he moved the trap outside but was unable to safely remove the bird. An animal control officer responded and removed the healthy gray song bird and returned it to the wild.
Stray dog destroys yard: 12200 block, Fleming Lane, Bowie, June 2. A woman reported finding a stray dog and confining it in her fenced back yard. She said that the dog was tearing up her yard. An officer removed the 2-year-old brindle-colored Mastiff mix. The dog was reunited with its owner June 4.

Humane Society is sponsoring cat and dog adoptions from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday at PetSmart, 12020 Cherry Hill Rd., Silver Spring. The pets’ foster owners will answer questions and accept adoption applications for the animals. Adoption fees are $75 for cats, $180 for dogs.
