After his multi-step technique for holding up a store worked once, a robber in Prince George’s County apparently used it again the very next day, according to a police account.

The first robbery occurred about 3 a.m. Thursday at a convenience store in the 7400 block of Central Avenue in the Capitol Heights area. The robber entered, chose a drink from the cooler and took it to the counter. When the register was opened, he drew a gun, grabbed the cash drawer and ran.

As police looked for him, they said he struck again early Friday morning at a store in the 1400 block of Ritchie Road, also in the Capitol Heights area. He went inside, again picked out a drink, took it to the counter, and watched as the register was opened.

But again, there was no sale. The robber again drew his gun, seized the cash drawer and fled. Police asked anyone with information to call the robbery unit at (301) 772-4905.
