Albemarle Dr. and Yorkshire Lane, 5:16 p.m. Nov. 7. Three males exited a vehicle and accosted a male juvenile on his skateboard. They knocked the boy to the ground, assaulted him and demanded property. The males fled empty-handed in the vehicle, and the boy was taken to a hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
Sowder Village Sq., 9900 block, 4:26 p.m. Nov. 2. Two women entered a retail store pushing a baby stroller. They placed several articles of women’s clothing in the stroller, then made a purchase for a separate item and did not pay for the women’s clothing. When a security officer attempted to detain the women near the entrance, an altercation ensued and one of the women struck the officer. The women escaped to the parking lot with the stolen merchandise.
Heron Ridge Ct., 10600 block, 6 a.m. Nov. 9 to 7:45 p.m. Nov. 17. Several watches were stolen from a residence entered by force through a rear door.
Old Bridge Rd., 1400 block, 1:05 a.m. Nov. 18. A man was fatally shot at a recording studio. On Nov. 20, a 43-year-old Southeast D.C. man was arrested in Greenbelt, Md., and charged with murder and use of a firearm to commit a felony.
AGGRAVATED SEXUAL BATTERY OF A MINOR
Woodbridge area, 5:33 p.m. Nov. 16. An 8-year-old girl informed a parent that a man sexually assaulted her that day and had more than once. Fairfax County police assisted with the arrest of the 64-year-old Annandale man. He was charged with aggravated sexual battery.
Basque Pl., 12500 block, 9:32 p.m. Nov. 14. A man got into an argument with an acquaintance that escalated. He assaulted the acquaintance causing significant injuries, then drove the acquaintance to the hospital and fled. The 28-year-old Woodbridge man was later arrested at his residence and charged with malicious wounding.
Longview Dr. E., 1300 block, 11:33 a.m. Nov. 20. A man reported that he and a male acquaintance were involved in a verbal altercation that escalated at an apartment. The acquaintance struck and kicked him in the head and body multiple times before other occupants of the home intervened. The acquaintance fled, and the injured man reported minor injuries.
Lakota Dr., 7000 block, 8 a.m. Nov. 17. A woman reported that she and a male acquaintance were involved in an argument that escalated at an apartment when the man grabbed the woman by the throat. The 68-year-old Woodbridge man was arrested and charged with strangulation.
ATTEMPTED MALICIOUS WOUNDINGS
Marina Way, 13100 block, 7:52 a.m. Nov. 17. A man and a female acquaintance got into an argument at a residence that escalated. The woman left the residence and texted that she intended to vandalize the man’s vehicle. When the man went outside, the woman was in her vehicle and swerved her car toward the man. He escaped by running into a nearby stairwell. The 28-year-old Fairfax woman was arrested and charged with attempted malicious wounding and domestic assault and battery.
Potomac Mills Cir., 2700 block, 1:17 p.m. Nov. 12. An off-duty officer detected the odor of marijuana coming from a vehicle in a parking lot at a mall. When the officer approached the vehicle and identified himself, the driver put the car in reverse and pulled out of the space at a high speed. He ran over the officer’s right foot and drove recklessly out of the parking lot. A 23-year-old Dumfries man was arrested and charged with attempted malicious wounding, reckless driving, eluding and driving on a revoked license.
ASSAULT AND BATTERY ON LAW ENFORCEMENT
Heron Way, 1600 block, 8:25 p.m. Nov. 20. When officers responded to a domestic call, a man at the residence became disorderly. When police attempted to detain him, the man flailed around and shook his upper body, striking an officer in the chest. The 43-year-old Woodbridge man was arrested and charged with assault and battery on a law enforcement officer and obstruction of justice.
SHOOTING INTO AN OCCUPIED DWELLING
Cavallo Way, 4800 block, 10:30-11 p.m. Nov. 15. Shots were fired in the 4900 block of Chaste Tree Place. A residence on Chaste Tree Place and a residence on Cavallo Way were struck. No injuries were reported. Police report the shooting appears to be random and there is no indication the properties were targeted.
Chico Ct., 3700 block, 8:04 p.m. Nov. 19. A 12-year-old boy was walking with a sibling when a male acquaintance accosted them. During the encounter, the acquaintance tripped and struck the boy, took one of the boy’s shoes and threw it back at him. On Nov. 20, the incident was reported and a 14-year-old juvenile was arrested at his residence and charged with attempted robbery.
Daley Lane, 14700 block, 6:24 p.m. Nov. 19. A 41-year-old Woodbridge woman was arrested and charged with driving under the influence — 3rd offense in 5 years, assault and battery on a law enforcement officer, violation of a protective order, refusal of breath test, obstruction of justice, failure to stop for police, driving on a revoked license, and driving without headlights.
