The Prince William Board of County Supervisors has scheduled a special meeting at 7:30 p.m. April 18 to adopt a redistricting plan.
The Prince William Electoral Board recently notified the supervisors that they needed to adopt a redistricting plan a month earlier than the originally scheduled May 17 adoption date.
According to the Electoral Board, state and federal law requires absentee ballots be available no later than 45 days prior to a primary or general election, and the May 17 date did not allow enough time.
A public hearing is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in board chambers. The public will have an opportunity to provide comments during the April 18 special meeting.
