Brentsville Schoolhouse to be rededicated after renovations

Brentsville School alumnae and members of the Prince William Historic Preservation Foundation and Historic Prince William will rededicate the recently restored 1920s schoolhouse at 1 p.m. Saturday at 12227 Bristow Rd., Bristow.

Historic Preservation Division staff will lead tours of the site following the dedication.

Nine local children to be honored for ‘Making the Right Call’

The Prince William County Office of Public Safety Communications will honor nine local children Saturday with a ceremony beginning at 1 p.m. during Station 14’s Open House at 12400 Hedges Run Dr., Lake Ridge.

The “Make the Right Call” ceremony will recognize the children, between the ages of 5 and 15, for calling 9-1-1 and remaining calm during an emergency.

The honorees are Tamia Martin, 14, Janiyah Lard, 10, Kayla Chirino, 10, Jasmin Mendez, 12, David Badir, 5, Jocelyn Bonilla, 9, Dominick Davis, 10, Robert Hagwood, 15, and Genesis Boykin, 8.
