Public meetings seek input on county’s housing plan

The Prince William County Office of Housing and Community Development is holding two meetings Thursday to seek public input on a Five-year Consolidated Plan. The plan is intended to identify housing and community development problems, develop solutions and prioritize how funding should be spent over the next five years.

The first meeting is at 10 a.m. at Manassas City Hall, 9027 Center St. The second meeting is at 5:30 p.m. in the Leesylvania conference room at the Dr. A.J. Ferlazzo Building, 15941 Donald Curtis Dr., Woodbridge.

Tourism agency presented Industry Awards

Discover Prince William & Manassas, the area’s tourism marketing agency presented Industry Awards for the first time honoring individuals and organizations who promote Prince William and Manassas as a tourist destination.

During its annual luncheon last week, Discover Prince William & Manassas recognized the National Museum of the Marine Corps as Partner of the Year. City of Manassas Mayor Harry “Hal” Parrish II received the Tourism Champion Award and Joann Barron of the Weems-Botts Museum was given the Tourism Leader Award. Peggy Lanham of Hampton Inn, Manassas received the Stellar Service Award.
