Kelly Leadership Center adds security measures

As of Friday, only on-site employees can use their key cards to enter the Kelly Leadership Center on Bristow Road.

County school employees not assigned to the center and all visitors should park on the Bristow Road side of the building and enter through the main doors.

The back entrance will be accessible only from 6:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. weekdays. For information, visit

Free practice GED tests available at center Monday

Adults who are considering taking the test for a General Educational Development certificate can take a free practice exam at 6 p.m. Monday at the Prince William County Adult Learning Center, 14800 Joplin Rd., Manassas.

Doors open at 5:15 p.m. The test takes about four hours and can help determine readiness for the GED exam. For information, visit or call 703-791-7357.

Schools open registration
for summer art program

Registration is open for Prince William County schools’ Summer Art Enrichment Program for students in grades two to eight.

The program will be from 9 a.m. to noon weekdays, July 8 to 19. It will include drawing, painting, printmaking, textiles, ceramics, sculpture and mixed media. It costs $200 for residents and $250 for nonresidents. The registration deadline is 3 p.m. May 10.

Students who live west of Lake Jackson Drive will attend the program at Marsteller Middle School; students who live east of Lake Jackson will go to Saunders Middle School. Transportation will be provided from satellite locations.

Registration forms are available from all elementary and middle school art teachers. Mail completed forms to the Office of Student Learning/Fine & Performing Arts Program, PWCPS, P.O. Box 389, Manassas, Va. 20108.
