SOL testing is delayed for county students

The Virginia Department of Education is allowing Prince William County schools to delay the Standards of Learning exams for students in grades three through eight by up to a week to compensate for weather-related closings and delays this winter.

The new testing window for the SOLs (other than writing) will be May 19 through June 13. Schools may schedule tests at any time during that period. Principals of individual schools will post testing dates on school Web sites within a few weeks.

For information about scheduling or changing individual testing windows, call Paul Parker, supervisor of testing, at 703-791-8308.
