An 18-year-old D.C. man was arrested Thursday in connection with a fatal September shooting in Northwest Washington, police said.

On Sept. 12 at around 12:25 a.m., officers responded to the 2300 block of 11th Street Northwest for the report of a shooting, D.C. police said in a statement. They found 23-year-old Eric Garrett of Northwest Washington suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, the statement said, and Garrett died of his wounds at a hospital on Sept. 18.

On Thursday, authorities arrested Bikila Kejella of Northwest in connection with the shooting, and he was charged with first-degree murder while armed.
