Maybe it’s a dream: You come home and someone has magically cleaned your apartment, for free.

But in this case it appears a crime was committed.

Police in Arlington said they are investigating after a resident who lives in a building in the 1500 block of Clarendon Boulevard came home just after midnight Monday from being on a trip and found something out of whack — the apartment had been cleaned.

Whodunnit?

Police are not sure at this time and have no description of a suspect or suspects. Ashley Savage, a police spokeswoman, said, “someone unlawfully entered the apartment.”

The resident noticed some items had been moved around but nothing appeared to be missing from the home, authorities said. But, Savage said, “The victim came home to discover the residence cleaned.”

Nothing was taken from the home.

Savage said the victim did not see the person who cleaned the apartment.
