At least six passengers, including two children, suffered minor injuries Monday morning when a Metro bus struck a car on Georgia Avenue in Northwest Washington, according to authorities.

The accident occurred about 11:40 a.m. at Georgia Avenue and Bryant Street, near the Howard University campus.

A Metro spokeswoman said a car traveling north on Georgia Avenue tried to make a right turn in front of the bus in an adjacent lane and was struck by the bus.

D.C. fire officials reported that seven people were taken to hospitals with minor injuries. A Metro spokeswoman said six people were injured, all of them suffering “non visible” injuries.
