D.C. police have identified a man who was fatally shot Thursday night when a gunman opened fire on a group at a gas station parking lot in the Brookland neighborhood of Northeast Washington.
Jarvis Belle, 29, died at a hospital shortly after the shooting, which occurred about 7:40 p.m. at an Exxon station in the 3400 block of 18th Street NE.
Three other men were struck by gunfire and were taken to area hospitals with injuries police said were not life-threatening. Police said the shooting occurred in front of the garage bay doors.
Belle lived about a block from the shooting scene. A person who answered the phone at the address said the family was not there and would not answer questions. Police did not discuss a possible motive, and no arrest had been made as of Friday afternoon.
