An 84-year-old woman died after a townhouse fire in Prince George’s County, officials said.

The incident happened around 11 p.m. Sunday in the 6000 block of North Hil Mar Circle in District Heights.

The victim was later identified as Doris Miller of District Heights.

Officials said someone called 911 saying a person was trapped inside a townhouse. When firefighters arrived, they found fire coming from the back of the home.

They searched the home and found Miller on the second floor. She was taken to a nearby hospital where she died.

No one else was injured in the fire, but two other people who lived in the townhouse were displaced. They are being helped by the American Red Cross.

Officials said the fire was out in 15 minutes, and the cause is under investigation.

Prince George’s County Fire officials said in a statement that there were no working smoke alarms found inside the townhouse. The loss to the home is estimated at $80,000.
