A fire broke out early Sunday morning in an apartment house on a residential street in the heart of the Georgetown neighborhood of Northwest Washington.

The fire was reported shortly before 1 a.m. on the second floor of a building in the 3200 block of N Street NW, according to the D.C. Fire and EMS department.

One person was taken to a hospital with injuries described as not life-threatening.

Fire officials said the blaze was confined to the second floor of the building.
