Ku Klux Klan “recruitment fliers” were found Saturday and Sunday in Leesburg and Loudoun County, authorities said.

Recruitment fliers for the Ku Klux Klan were found over the weekend in Leesburg and Loudoun County, authorities said.

Fliers were found Saturday evening in plastic bags in Leesburg, according to a statement from the county sheriff’s office.

Sunday morning the sheriff’s office was told that fliers were in driveways on a street in Paeonian Springs.

Additional fliers were found on streets in the New Town Meadows community in Lovettsville, the sheriff’s office said. They were found near driveways, in mailboxes and on sidewalks.

They were in plastic bags that either contained birdseed or had contained it, according to the sheriff’s office.

Some of the fliers were described by officials as similar to those found last month in Leesburg and elsewhere in Loudoun. There was no indication of targeting in the distribution of the fliers, authorities said.
