A man walking near Meridian Hill Park in Northwest Washington was robbed at knifepoint and sexually assaulted earlier this week by two men who police said forced him into bushes.

D.C. police said the attack occurred about 2 a.m. Sunday in the 2400 block of 15th Street NW. The victim told police that the men approached him and forced him into the bushes while at least one threatened him with a knife.

Police said the men sexually assaulted the victim and then stole property. Authorities did not elaborate.

Both assailants were described as black men about 25 years old. One stands between 5 feet 8 inches and 6 feet 2 inches tall, weighs about 160 pounds and has curly hair and a beard. He was wearing a white shirt, black jeans and eyeglasses. Police said the other man is about 5 foot 3 inches tall and weights about 145 pounds. He was wearing a black sweat shirt, blue jeans and a baseball cap.
