A Maryland middle school teacher has been charged after soliciting a police officer posing online as a 14-year-old boy for sex, Fairfax County police said Thursday.
Kenneth B. Fischer, 39, of Westminster, Md., contacted the officer through a cellphone app, solicited sexual contact and sent explicit images that investigators think are of himself, police said.
Fischer is a teacher at Carroll County's Westminster West Middle School and was formerly a teacher and administrator at multiple other Carroll County schools, including North Carroll High School, Winters Mill High School, Francis Scott Key High School, Manchester Valley High School, Sykesville Middle School and Mount Airy Middle School, the Maryland State Police said. He has been in the school system since 2000.
Detectives determined that there may be additional victims in Northern Virginia and Maryland, police said. Police have asked parents to talk to their children and report any suspicious contact with Fischer outside a school setting.
Fischer is charged with four counts of solicitation of a minor. He is in custody in Maryland pending an extradition hearing.
