A 40-year-old man reported missing earlier this month from Carroll County, Md., was found dead Friday night in a stream in a Montgomery County park in Bethesda, according to police.

A cause of death has not been determined, authorities said Friday. An autopsy is planned in Baltimore.

Police said Daniel Taylor Evans was last seen at his home in Sykesville, west of Baltimore, leaving for work about 6 a.m. Aug. 3. Police said he never showed up at his job in Rockville, about 50 miles away.

Montgomery County police said a person who lives on Heatherhill Court in Bethesda found the body about 7:20 p.m. in a stream in Booze Creek Stream Valley Park, which is in the back of the property owner’s land.

The sheriff’s office in Carroll County said in a bulletin that it was unusual for Evans to be out of contact with his family. They say he had been driving a blue 2008 Mitsubishi Gallant with Maryland registration 2BC8523.

Montgomery County police did not mention finding a vehicle.
