Two women and four men were arrested and charged in connection with the murder of a 35-year-old Waldorf, Md., man.

The Charles County Sheriff’s Office said Samuel Keith Gemeny was shot and killed Tuesday in the 3400 block of Promenade Place in Waldorf by people authorities said he knew.

He was pronounced dead on the scene.

Police said the preliminary investigation found that three suspects knocked on the door of Gemeny’s apartment around 8:24 p.m. When he opened the door, they forced their way inside.

An argument started between Gemeny and the suspects and he hit one of the suspects over the head with an iPad, police said. Officials did not disclose what the argument involved.

Another suspect then shot Gemeny, authorities said, before they fled in a car.

The six suspects were arrested Wednesday and charged with first-degree murder and other charges.

Those charged include: Jared Jacob Hayes, 31; Morgan Tyrone Rich Jr., 27; Andrew Loren Webb, 24; Dominique Ariel Grant, 28; and Dominic Xavier Daniel, 24 — all of whom are from Waldorf. Also charged is Gabrielle Marie Ditella, 19, of Costesville, Pa.
