Three people were slain in D.C. on Friday in separate incidents involving two shootings and a stabbing, according to the police.

In the latest of the three, a man was fatally shot a few minutes before 8 p.m. in the 5000 block of First Street NW, said Officer Hugh Carew, a police spokesman.

The street is just east of New Hampshire Avenue.

In the other shooting, a man was fatally injured about 2:15 p.m. in the 600 block of Division Avenue NE, Carew said. The block includes a strip shopping center and is west of Marvin Gaye Park and south of Nannie Helen Burroughs Avenue NE.

In the first of the slayings, Michael Phillip Johnson, 21, of Southeast, was found stabbed about 9:40 a.m. on the south side of the 4900 block of East Capitol Street NE.
