Montgomery County firefighters battled a two-alarm fire Thursday night at a Rockville country club where President Obama hit golf balls earlier this week.
Firefighters found heavy fire and smoke on the grounds of the Woodmont Country Club in the 1200 block of Rockville Pike about 11 p.m., said Pete Piringer, a spokesman. The barn may have contained hazardous materials as 75 firefighters tried to douse flames during an exterior attack on the fire.
No injuries were reported.
According to a White House pool report from Sunday, Obama spent the early afternoon hitting golf balls at the practice range.
