U.S. Park Police are investigating a report of a stabbing Sunday in a park at 13th and K streets NW, authorities said.

The incident occurred shortly after 3 p.m. in Franklin Square, a bustling park in downtown D.C., where church festivities were taking place through the afternoon. A crime scene was taped off in the northeast section of the park, and a bloody T-shirt with holes torn in the fabric could be observed in the grass.

About 4 p.m. police handcuffed a tall man wearing a red polo shirt, who appeared to be in his 40s or 50s. Officers interviewed the man and loaded him into a police cruiser. It was unclear, however, if he was the suspect in the stabbing.

U.S. Park Police said they have made no arrest in the case.

The victim’s injuries were believed to be non-life-threatening, authorities said.
