The driver of a nursing home van apparently lost control of the vehicle and crashed through the wall of the Northeast facility Thursday, D.C. fire officials said.

No injuries were reported after the van demolished the rear wall of a nursing facility in 4500 block of Edson Place NE about 5:30 p.m., officials said. Photos taken at the scene show the van apparently ended up in the facility’s kitchen, with the ceiling collapsed around the vehicle.

The facility director told fire officials that arrangements would be made for displaced residents, said Vito Maggiolo, a fire department spokesman.

City building inspectors were called to determine if the crash compromised the building’s structural stability, official said.
