A woman was killed and a young person was injured after an early-morning crash in Glenarden, Md., officials said.

Niambi Sumbry, 40, of Glenarden, died after her car struck a guardrail just before 4 a.m. Monday near Martin Luther King Jr. Highway and Glenarden Parkway in Prince George’s County, police said. It’s unclear why Sumbry lost control of the car before crashing into the rail, police said.

Only one vehicle was involved, and the woman was pronounced dead on the scene. Police said the juvenile passenger had nonlife threatening injuries.
