The community garden, which opened in 1990, is on land owned by the Masonic House of Temple and must close in November to accommodate a a renovation of the early 1900s building, on 16th Street NW. “Everyone is devastated,” says gardener Kerry Kemp.
April 17, 2011 Kerry Kemp has worked the land at Temple Garden for 15 years. The garden, off 15th Street NW between R and S streets, has 100 members. It is set to close Nov. 30. Astrid Riecken/FOR THE WASHINGTON POST Buy Photo
