Southeast D.C. woman, 71, missing for four days

D.C. police have issued an alert for an elderly woman from Southeast Washington who has been missing since the day after Christmas.

Police say 71-year-old Laura Townsend is a black female who weighs about 120 pounds and may be in need of medical attention. She has short gray dreadlocks and was last seen at 1 p.m. at her home in the 1800 block of Alabama Avenue SE.

Townsend was wearing jogging pants, black gloves and a Washington Redskins jacket. She also was wearing black and white eyeglasses. Police said Sunday that anyone with information should call the police at 202-727-9099 or 202-576-6768.
