Red Rock Ct., Aug. 17. An attempt was made to enter a residence by removing a screen from a window.

Dayton Ave., 9 to 9:30 a.m. Aug. 13. A BMX bicycle was stolen from a residence.

VANDALISM

Dayton Ave., Aug. 15 to Aug. 16. An outside mirror was broken on a vehicle.

Third St., Aug. 12 to Aug. 13. A vehicle’s paint service was scratched.

PRINCE FREDERICK
THEFTS/BREAK-INS

Auto Dr., Aug. 14 to Aug. 15. Two flags were stolen from an aquatics center.

Cedar Beach Dr., 11 a.m. Aug. 14. Cash and prescription medication were stolen from a basement apartment.

Ketch Rd., Aug. 13 to Aug. 14. Two U.S. flags were stolen from a business.

MOTOR VEHICLE THEFTS

North Solomons Island Rd., 2:55 a.m. Aug. 22. A break-in was reported at a service center. After an attempt to steal a safe, a man fled the scene in a van that belonged to the business. A District Heights man, 41, was arrested. Charges included motor vehicle theft, theft valued at more than $10,000, burglary and two counts of malicious destruction of property.

VANDALISM

Sonoma Lane, Aug. 13 to 14. Four lights were damaged at a model home.

THEFTS/BREAK-INS

Iowa Pl., 3700 block, Aug. 20. In connection with scrap metal thefts dating to May, a Brandywine man, 44, was charged with burglary and theft.

WALDORF AREA
ROBBERIES

Ryon Ct., 3300 block, 2:40 a.m. Aug. 5. Three men robbed a man walking a dog. On Aug. 17, three Waldorf men, ages 20, 20 and 21, and a Lexington Park man, 21, were arrested. Charges included assault, robbery and motor vehicle theft. One of the 20-year-old men was charged with robbery in connection with an Aug. 2 incident at a convenience store on St. Ignatius Drive.

THEFTS/BREAK-INS

Copley Ave., 4:57 a.m. Aug. 22. Coins were stolen from a vehicle. Two 14-year-old males were charged with theft.

Crain Hwy., 2000 block, 12:30 to 7 a.m. Aug. 22. A break-in was reported at a restaurant. Several cash registers were damaged, but nothing was reported missing.

Greenwood Dr., 2100 block, 6:37 a.m. Aug. 20. Four tires were stolen from a 2007 Chevrolet Suburban. An attempt was made to set the vehicle on fire.

Kearny’s Inn Pl., 3800 block, 2 to 4 p.m. Aug. 17. A wallet was stolen from a residence. There was no sign of forced entry.

Rooks Head Pl., 2600 block, 7 a.m. to 6:45 p.m. Aug. 17. A jar of coins was stolen from a residence.

Smallwood, 4:15 p.m. Aug. 16. Several pieces of aluminum were taken from a shopping cart return area in a parking lot at a shopping center. A 52-year old Bowie man, who police said tried to drive away with the property in a van, was arrested on theft charges.

ROBBERIES

Three Notch Rd., 1:36 a.m. Aug. 17. Responding to a report of an incident robbery at a convenience store, police detained a man found behind the counter with cash in his hand. A Mechanicsville man, 51, was charged with robbery.

MORGANZA AREA
ASSAULTS

Johnson Manor Farm Lane, 5:48 p.m. Aug. 16. During an argument, a man attacked an acquaintance. A 25-year-old Morganza man was charged with second-degree assault.
