Breezy Point Rd., 3:25 p.m. Aug. 15. A male with his hand in his pocket demanded cash from a marina manager. A Dunkirk youth, 17, was charged with attempted robbery.
Tara Dr., Aug. 14. Outgoing mail was stolen from a mailbox at a residence. A neighbor reported finding mail in her trash can; an envelope containing a check was not found.
Plum Point Rd., Aug. 11 to Aug. 16. A door was pried open at a church. Nothing was reported missing.
El Segunda Lane, 11:30 a.m.-1:20 p.m. Aug. 13. A front door was damaged in a break-in attempt at a residence.
Ottowa Dr., 5:37 p.m. Aug. 14. A man cut the connection to a heat pump at a residence and stole it. A Lusby man, 47, was charged with theft.
Pine Blvd., 11:15 p.m. Aug. 15. A homeowner saw three people trying to break into a shed behind a home. A center console in a vehicle at the residence had been opened, but nothing was reported stolen.
San Gabriel Rd., Aug. 16 to Aug. 17. A Global Positioning System device and a CD holder with CDs were stolen from an unlocked vehicle.
Hospital Dr., 9:06 a.m. Aug. 16. A woman in a hospital waiting room assaulted a man. A Great Mills woman, 43, was charged with second-degree assault.
Dowell Rd., 8:22 p.m. Aug. 13. A license plate was stolen from a vehicle parked on the side of the road and being offered for sale.
Dalrymple Rd., 4:33 p.m. Aug. 13. Mail was stolen from a mailbox.
Piedmont Dr., 18100 block, Aug. 19. Cash and cigarettes were stolen from an unlocked vehicle, and gasoline was siphoned.
La Plata area, 3 p.m. Aug. 19. A La Plata man, 76, got a phone call claiming that the man had won a million-dollar lottery. The man was told to buy a $500 gift card and that when the caller picked up the card, the man would receive his winnings. The La Plata man also was told that the purchase of the gift card would verify his identity because he would need a valid ID to buy the card. The man hung up and called police.
Waldorf Marketplace, 3600 block, 10:57 a.m. Aug. 15. A man grabbed a bank deposit bag from someone intending to make a deposit and fled in a dark-colored vehicle.
Crain Hwy., 3300 block, 6:28 a.m. A man and woman were seen stealing tires from a shed and fled in vehicles. During a traffic stop, a Waldorf woman, 27, was arrested and charged with second- and fourth-degree burglary and theft. The man fled in a different vehicle after the theft.
Gough Dr., 3400 block, Aug. 18 to Aug. 19. Someone broke into two vans in a parking lot. Nothing was reported stolen.
Primrose Ct., 3700 block, Aug. 18 to Aug. 19. A purse and a Global Positioning System device were stolen from an unlocked vehicle.
Waldorf Market Pl., 3200 block, 1-2 p.m. Aug. 19. Electronic items were stolen from a vehicle. Police are investigating two other thefts of property from vehicles in the Waldorf area that might be connected. A tool was apparently used to break the locking mechanism in the vehicles.
Port Royal Ave., 11600 block, 1-5 a.m. Aug. 19. A pair of sunglasses was stolen from a vehicle.

Three Notch Rd., Aug. 11. A man at a shopping center parking lot was yelling obscenities at customers. A struggle ensued during his arrest, and he kicked the inside of a police vehicle and hit a deputy several times. A Prince Frederick man, 41, was charged with second-degree assault, disorderly conduct, failure to obey a lawful order, disturbing the peace and having an alcoholic beverage in public.
Route 5, Aug. 13. During a check of the premises at a park-and-ride, a police officer saw a woman duck down into a vehicle. An investigation found that she had burglary tools and drug paraphernalia in her vehicle. A check of the area revealed several vehicles had been broken into, and items had been stolen that were found in the woman’s vehicle. An acquaintance of the woman arrived and provided false information and left the scene after the vehicle was being towed away. A short time later, the man flagged down the tow truck driver. It was quickly learned the man was involved in the thefts. A Nanjemoy man, 28, and a Waldorf woman, 27, were charged with theft of less than $10,000, theft scheme, destruction of property and possession of a controlled dangerous substance.
Windmill Point Dr., Aug. 10. During a confrontation about leaving a residence, a woman hit an acquaintance several times. A Drayden woman, 22, was charged with second-degree assault.
Lexington Park, 5:56 p.m. Aug. 19. A man chased a 23-year-old man around a store with a knife. A Great Mills man, 23, was charged with assault and violation of a protective order when he was found a short time later in the company of a woman, 22, who has a protective order against him.
Valley Ct., Aug. 11. During an argument, a woman assaulted an acquaintance. A Lexington Park woman, 30, was charged with second-degree assault.
Mechanicsville, 9 a.m. Aug. 18. During an attempt to serve a bench warrant on a Mechanicsville man, 47, a woman assaulted a deputy in an attempt to interfere with the arrest. A Mechanicsville woman, 43, was charged with assault, and the man was arrested and charged.
Mechanicsville, Aug. 14. An off-site surveillance company saw a man going through vehicles at an auto sales business. A Loveville man, 51, was charged with rogue and vagabond.
Point Lookout Rd., Aug. 14. During an argument, a man grabbed an acquaintance by the throat and pushed her into a wall. A Morganza man, 33, was charged with second-degree assault.
