LUSBY AREA
THEFT/BREAK-IN

Rousby Hall Rd., 11700 block, Jan. 14. A woman’s wallet and merchandise were taken from her cart at a grocery store. Approximately $1,860 of fraudulent charges were spent on the woman’s bank account.

ARREST

Hemlock Rd., 10:40 p.m. Jan. 18. A 53-year-old man was arrested and charged with destruction of property, obstructing and hindering, second-degree assault on a law enforcement officer, and resisting arrest.

ST. LEONARD AREA
THEFT/BREAK-IN

St. Leonard Rd., 2:50-8:40 a.m. Jan. 16. Property was stolen.

CHAPTICO AREA
ASSAULT

Old Chaptico Wharf Lane, 23900 block, Jan. 19. A 40-year-old Chaptico man was arrested and charged with second-degree assault after he pushed another person into a wall causing injury to the person’s head, and then continued to assault the person.

GREAT MILLS AREA
WEAPON ARREST

Coronado Dr., 45500 block, Jan. 22. A 20-year-old Lexington Park man was arrested after a traffic stop and charged with having a loaded handgun in a vehicle, possession of a firearm by a minor (under 21), loaded handgun on person, possession of a controlled dangerous substance, possession with intent to distribute, possession of paraphernalia and related charges. A check of the handgun’s serial number revealed it was reported stolen in North Carolina.

LEXINGTON PARK AREA
ASSAULT

Essex Dr. S., 21300 block, Jan. 19. An 18-year-old man was arrested and charged with second-degree assault, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct.

ARREST

Saratoga Dr., 21000 block, 9:18 p.m. Jan. 23. A 21-year-old man was arrested after a report of a disturbance with shots fired. He was charged with reckless endangerment, failure to obey a lawful order, resisting arrest, theft and possession of a firearm.

MECHANICSVILLE AREA
THEFT/BREAK-IN

Three Notch Rd., 28500 block, Jan. 20. Responding to an alarm at an elementary school, police found a man asleep on a table in a classroom and discovered numerous computer screens and supplies had been destroyed, and a case of ice cream sandwiches in the cafeteria had been eaten. The 37-year-old Mechanicsville man was arrested and charged with second- and fourth-degree burglary, theft, and malicious destruction of property.

RIDGE AREA
ASSAULT

Three Notch Rd., 16700 block, Jan. 17. A man grabbed another man, then threw him to the floor causing an injury. The 30-year-old Ridge man, was arrested and charged with second-degree assault.
