The much-hyped snowfall didn’t materialize in the immediate D.C. area, but strong winds associated with Wednesday’s storm did topple trees, resulting in property damage, injuries and one death.

A Fauquier County man died Wednesday while trying to clear storm-damaged trees from his property. One of the trees fell on 52-year-old Joseph John Brozina, striking him in the head, according to the county sheriff's office. Brozina was pronounced dead at the scene.

In Montgomery County, a tree fell on an occupied SUV in the 2900 block of Newcastle Avenue in Silver Spring. The man and woman inside the vehicle sustained minor injuries and were treated at a local hospital, officials said.

In Prince George’s County, a tree fell onto a house while a family was inside. There was damage to the roof of the home, but no injuries were reported.
