Suspects allegedly use knife, shoes in D.C. attack on group of women

Three women have been charged with assault after they allegedly attacked a group of women with a knife and their shoes in the District early Sunday morning.

Police said the confrontation began inside a 7-Eleven store near the intersection of 12th and U Streets in Northwest at about 2:23 a.m. on Sunday. Four women in one group engaged in a discussion with a group of three other women, who police say later attacked after the two groups left the store.

One of the suspects allegedly used a knife while the other two women used their shoes to beat the other group of women, police said.

Police said three of the four victims were injured, with two receiving medical treatment and the third woman refusing help.

The three suspects were arrested at the scene, and all three were charged with assault with a dangerous weapon.
