The Head2Head concussion clinic is educating coaches and athletes to be aware of the warning signs of head injuries. Young people who experience any of the following symptoms after a possible concussion should receive immediate medical attention.

Signs observed by coaching staff

3 Appears dazed or stunned

3 Is confused about an assignment or position

3 Forgets instructions or a play

3 Is unsure of game, score or opponent

3 Moves clumsily

3 Answers questions slowly

3 Loses consciousness, even briefly

3 Changes in behavior or personality

3 Can’t recall events before or after hit or fall

Symptoms reported by athlete

3 Headache or pressure in head

3 Nausea or vomiting

3 Balance problems or dizziness

3 Double or fuzzy vision

3 Sensitivity to light or noise

3 Feeling foggy or groggy

3 Concentration or memory problems

3 Confusion

3 Just not “feeling right” or “feeling down”

Delayed symptoms

3 Any of the above symptoms

3 Sleep disturbance

3 Fatigue

3 Depression

3 Feeling “slowed down” or “in a fog”

3 Poor school performance
