The Institute for the Advancement of Multicultural & Minority Medicine (IAMMM), a national health advocacy organization, held its annual awards benefit gala on Sept. 27th at the Fairmont Hotel in Washington, D.C. The gala showcased people from across the country who have overcome severe medical challenges and made major contributions to curing diseases nationwide. Lumniaries who attended included former Redskins’ greats Lonnie Sanders and Dexter Manley, former City Council Chairwoman Linda Cropp and Georgetown head basketball coach John Thompson III.
